However if you want to use one legally on a public road it needs to be registered and you need to insure it and be licensed to ride it. This can be done with any of our scooters and tricycles, other than the Labicana Pro.</p><p><br></p><h2 id="registration">Registration</h2><p>You can purchase the scooter preregistered (where we have already registered it) or (if we don&apos;t have any preregistered scooters in stock) you can select the option for us to register the scooter for you. You can also purchase the scooter unregistered and register it yourself. We have even built an <a href="https://fatwheelscoot.com/blogs/news/auto-fill-in-forms-required-to-register-new-citycoco-with-the-dvla" rel="noopener noreferrer" style=" text-decoration: underline;" target="_blank">automated tool</a> that produces the required DVLA paperwork for you to submit yourself.</p><p><br></p><h2 id="insurance">Insurance</h2><p>There a variety of insurers that our <a href="https://fatwheelscoot.com/blogs/news/getting-insurance-for-your-citycoco" rel="noopener noreferrer" style=" text-decoration: underline;" target="_blank">customers have used&#xA0;</a>(typically costing &#xA3;80 to &#xA3;250)</p><p><br></p><h2 id="licensed">Licensed</h2><p>For scooters if you got your driving license before February 2001, you can use your existing license (although worth <a href="https://fatwheelscoot.com/blogs/news/being-licensed-to-ride-one-of-our-scooters" rel="noopener noreferrer" style=" text-decoration: underline;" target="_blank">double checking</a>), otherwise you may have to complete a day long CBT course. For tricycles you can ride it with a driving license (as long as over 21), or with a CBT course.</p><p>Our scooters pay only &#xA3;26 a year in road tax (as they are electric) and don&apos;t need to be tested (as they have a Certificate of Conformity from the manufacturer confirming it adheres to UK standards).
