Disconnect the Motor Shut-Off

The brake has a electrical connection to the motor, ensuring that when the brake is pulled the motor is switched off (so they don't work against each other). Follow the electrical wire from the brake handle inside the plastic housing (which you will need to remove). The brake connection (for the front brake) is a pair of green and black wires. Unplug them and remove them so that you can remove the brake.
